Mapping Background

Idaho is engaged in a project to map the availability of broadband connections throughout the State and to develop investment plans for enhanced broadband deployment and use.

LinkIDAHO's Interactive Broadband Map has been developed as a part of this effort.

Current Version

This version of the maps, updated in March 2012, is based on coverage information that was accurate as of December 31, 2011.

The updated map contains all the information and functionality we have collected and developed to date. Our efforts, however, are ongoing. We are seeking feedback from users and will incorporate your suggestions, when possible, into the map.

Please be aware that the current National Broadband Map (NBM) has not been updated to include the most current provider data and still reflects provider coverage and speed info current as of June 30, 2011. You may see some differences when comparing the state map to the NBM.

Understanding the Maps

You may find it beneficial to read a more detailed overview of the maps, read a few tips about the map's navigation tools and functionality or review a few Frequently asked Questions (FAQ) about the mapping project. These helpful resources are also available through links inside the interactive mapping tool.

Subsequent Updates

Data is requested from providers every six months, and the maps are updated after the data is normalized and verified. The next updates of Idaho's interactive maps will take place in Q3 2012. Additional information layers will be added to the maps over time that will measure demand and use of broadband across the State.
